Sun falls over Dungarvan on the first day of Spring, oh what joys the Deise doth bring.....
After last year's bitter winter differentiating between the season's has been somewhat more difficult this year with temperatures remaining kind throughout January and the ground being, thankfully, bereft of the snow and ice that stamped Winter 2011 as somewhat of a chilly record breaker.
In fact the temperatures here only once reached zero throughout the entirety of
the first month and many people have reported seeing trees and plants budding and flowering exceptionally early.
Hopefully they have not been lulled into a false sense of security, and the Winter we all know remains well hidden allowing the Deise Spring to blossom.
Happy St. Brigid's Day, I'm off for an apple....
